The strange luck continues.

With overcast skies, we had to take the opportunity to do some fishing from the bank at Hefner. We took off to the south point. Right when we were about to leave, a largemouth hit. Basically the same as last time. I said "It's bout time to go." And sure enough, he hit.

Afterwards, we took off to the boat ramp jetty area. I managed to hang a cute small mouth off the rocks.

Chad finished strong with 3 mentionable sand bass off the large jetty at the boat ramp area. Next week we have a trolling motor again!

If you're interested, check out the Bass Pro Shops XPS Balsa Boogie Crankbait. The blue color seems to agree the most with the bass in Lake Hefner.

Is that normal size for a smallmouth bass? It certainly isn't tiny, but it looks like it could grow a couple more inches. Maybe I am getting it confused with another fish.

That second pic shows the lure I caught the smallmouth on. It was only 4-5 inches long. Small, but my 2nd smallmouth from Hefner, so I was happy. They really don't get very big compared to largemouth bass.
